With huge help from Inspiring Fifty South Africa and the leaders in science and technology they represent, 2000 calendars - not quite enough to really reach to the stars - have been donated to schools across South Africa. We’ve shipped out 1200 so far to schools across the counrty in and will be finalising the project in coming days. Thank you to everyone who donated.
We’ve partnered with the awesome organisation InspiringFifty South Africa, with some of the most amazing women in science and tech, to get as many of our 2021 calendars out to young people.
The calendars are filled with notable dates of science and technology and our awesome art as well as augmented reality. For less than a cup of coffee you can get a calendar in a child’s hand and give them a year of inspiration and learning. Donate R15 or more here. Thanks!

We’ve printed almost 5000 cards and 250 posters as we finish out our project with the SANTHE Network on gender equity in science and reimagining what a scientist looks like. Maphe, the principal investigator on the project below, will be visiting schools to share them and her experience as a PhD scientist. Really looking forward to it. Big thanks to SANTHE and the African Academy of Sciences for funding the project. #ScienceIsForEveryone
With help from the arts education non-profit ASSITEJ, we will be distributing 250 activity books to young people across Kwa-ZuluNatal. We’ve made an 8 page book with colouring pages and activities and ASSITEJ has kindly offered to distribute them as part of a broader programme of getting education materials out. Stay tuned as we hope to see them out to kids by the end of October.
